1 Peter 3:18-20

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, ¹⁹ in which he went and proclaimed^[ to the spirits in prison, ²⁰ because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

 Peter drops a bombshell on his readers scattered throughout the Roman provinces in Asia Minor. As you might recall, Peter is the dude who rejected Jesus with his first, second, and third answers. He was consistent. Yet, he found that God pursued him after he had walked back to his old life on the fishing boat. He seems like the perfect mouthpiece for those who must have felt like they lived on the Island for Misfit Toys: God has always been the One who relentlessly pursues the lost. Not only is He the Shepherd who leaves the 99 sheep to find the one lost, but he even went back to be the life-giving inflatable for those who perished in their own disobedience.

At God Will Make A Way Ministries, our hope is to send the same message through the adoption process to boys and girls throughout the world. As we help Christians overcome the financial hurdle to adopting, we are joining together to remind people of our God who always relentlessly pursues the lost!
